WordPress dependency analysis

Know what depends
on your plugins.

Before you remove a plugin, find the pages, patterns and widgets that use it. Ripple gives you the evidence to review the change and explain it to your client.

Version 0.11.0Development previewReports stay on your site

Built for site maintenance

From a plugin name to the pages that use it.

Plugin lists tell you what is installed. Ripple shows where those plugins leave references in your content, so you can review the affected records before making a change.

Find the content behind a plugin

See which pages, posts and saved site blocks use a plugin’s blocks or shortcodes. Open the content directly from the report.

Follow the dependency

Read the path from a page through a reusable pattern or saved navigation record to the plugin reference.

Plan several changes together

Select multiple plugins and inspect a combined report. Shared content is counted once, with evidence for each selected plugin.

Keep scans on a schedule

Run daily or weekly scans in the background. Scan activity records completed runs, failures, skipped runs and changes.

Track the review

Add Investigating or Reviewed notes to findings. Changed evidence is flagged for another look.

Put your name on the report

Create printable client reports with your agency logo, client name, colors and contact details. Include review notes only when you choose.

A practical review workflow

Scan. Inspect. Make the change on staging.

01 / Scan your site

Ripple reads saved content in batches. The scan button and progress bar show the number of records processed.

02 / Review the evidence

Open a plugin’s impact report, follow dependency paths, and record your review notes. Export a report when you need to share the findings.

03 / Test the change

Take a backup and test on staging. The individual preview can continue to WordPress’s normal deactivation flow when you are ready.

A scan identifies stored content references. It cannot prove that removing a plugin is safe in every situation. Runtime integrations and unsupported storage need a separate check.

Coverage and requirements

Clear about what it checks.

WordPress and PHP
Requires WordPress 6.6 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer. Current testing includes WordPress 7.1.3. Broader hosting and multisite validation is still in progress.
Saved WordPress content
Public post types, reusable patterns, saved templates, template parts and navigation. Published, draft, private, pending and scheduled records are included.
Targeted builder and widget support
Elementor shortcode and text-editor fields, builder-document ownership, and assigned classic text/block widgets. Elementor 4.3.4 was tested locally.
Known limits
Other builders, Elementor dynamic tags, unsupported widgets, theme-file templates, custom tables and runtime integrations are outside current coverage.

Your license and your data

Keep your reports on your own site.

Ripple scans without rendering content or executing shortcodes. Reports, review notes and agency branding are stored in your WordPress database. License and update requests send activation details to Hamelton Software; your content reports are not uploaded.

The annual license covers one production site and two companions linked to that production activation. After expiry, the installed version keeps scanning. Renew to receive updates and support. Your company account shows the activated domains, license status and expiry.

Common questions

Before you install.

Can I buy Ripple today?

Purchases are not open yet. The product page, screenshots and documentation describe development preview 0.11.0. Checkout will open after payment verification and release testing.

Does Ripple repair or remove content?

No. It reports dependencies and supports your review. It does not automatically repair pages. Combined impact is a planning report, not a bulk removal action.

Does it support every WordPress plugin?

It inspects registered blocks and shortcodes where ownership can be established, with the targeted integrations listed above. It does not inspect every plugin’s settings, custom tables or runtime behavior. Unconfirmed ownership appears in the review queue.

Will I lose scanning if I do not renew?

No. The installed version continues scanning. Renewal is required for updates and support.

Can I use it for client sites?

Yes. The single-site license covers one production client site. Agency branding is included in reports. A separate license is needed for each additional production site; no multi-site agency plan is offered yet.

Where do I get help?

Call (319) 520-6141, browse the searchable documentation, or contact help@hameltonsoftware.com. Include your Ripple, WordPress and PHP versions and the steps that led to the issue. Do not include passwords or license keys.
